TVS-BMW TO LAUNCH A 250CC BIKE BY 2014

TVS has recently joined hands with BMW Motorrad to jointly develop motorcycles for the Indian and international markets. Currently, TVS has motorcycles under 200cc, while BMW Motorrad sells motorcycles over 600cc, which means their is a significant gap between their line-ups. The 250-500cc segment is known as entry-level performance bikes, which are quite popular now-a-day. The reason is pretty clear, these mean machines provide both power and efficiency at an affordable cost. So, the entry level performance bike segment is the best segment to work on for this alliance, as the new line-up won't overlap their respective line-ups. The alliance will work on TVS� engineering and manufacturing skills and BMW�s technical expertise in building performance motorcycles. We have already seen that synergising strategies is quite successful in the automotive industry. Royal Enfield is doing well for past few years, and now they are looking to become a global leader in the 250-650cc bike segment. The Royal Enfield , which is owned by Delhi-based Eicher Motors, is one of the smallest bike makers in India by volume, but now the company is exploring the developed markets such as the US and Europe to power its global ambitions. BAJAJ TO LAUNCH NEW VEHICLES FOR THE FY 2013-2014

Rajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto revealed that Bajaj Auto is planning to launch 6 new Discover motorcycles in fiscal 2013-14. Bajaj Auto is currently leading the Indian sports motorcycle segment, which holds a total of 10 percent in the Indian market. But now, Bajaj Auto wishes to enhance in the Indian commuter bike segment, which holds a hefty 63 per cent of the total market. These new bikes will be a big push from Bajaj Auto to capture a major stake in the market. In recent development, Honda has pushed Bajaj to third spot, and that is why Bajaj wants to ensure that they won't lose market share in future. The bikemaker is developing the 6 new Discovers, which will target daily commuters, students and executives, however Bajaj hasn't disclosed the details of the bikes. HONDA CB TRIGGER PRICE ANNOUNCED

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) introduced their new 150cc sports bike CB Trigger last month, and now they have announced the prices of the Honda CB Trigger. With the CB Trigger, Honda is willing to get a bigger share in the 150cc sports bike segment. The CB Trigger is the updated Unicorn Dazzler, while the former is not doing good in terms of sales, Honda is betting high on this new Avatar. The CB Trigger comes with some unique first-in-class segment features like Combi Brake System (CBS), which is operated by the foot brake and applies both the front and rear brakes simultaneously. With the new CBS system, the braking distance is reduced by 32% as compared to conventional braking. The bike comes equipped with 240mm front and 220mm rear disc brakes. Like other 150cc Honda bikes, the Trigger is also equipped with mono suspension.
