KTM has launched the Duke 390 in the UK recently, and it is soon going to see Indian streets as well. And now KTM's CEO Seftan Pierer announced that they are planning to introduce two new variants of their much hyped 390 Duke motorcycle in India. Speaking to a news agency Mr. Pierer said KTM will debut a 'faired' model (KTM Moto3 350) and a 'travel / touring' model (KTM Enduro 350), which will be based on the KTM 390 Duke platform, and will share the bikes 375cc single-cylinder engine. He further added, KTM will continue to rollout models every six months, with the faired sport bike and enduro model included in that plan. The most surprising element of these announcements was that KTM is planning to develop a 180cc made for India bike. He stated that the Bajaj-KTM alliance is doing fabulous and they will keep doing wonders in future as well.
As Mr. Pierer said that they will launch a new motorcycle every six months, we can expect Duke 390's faired version and touring versions to follow the launch of the bike in early, 2013. As far as the pricing is concerned, Duke 390 is expected around Rs. 2 lakh, but the faired and touring version of the bike will be expensive. The faired version of the bike will target the enthusiasts, who love stylish plus performance motorcycles. While the touring version of the KTM Duke 390 will offer all the qualities that one looks in a ideal touring bike, like a higher tank capacity and front fairing to deflect the breeze blast at higher speeds. KTM Duke 390 produces 44bhp of peak power and 35Nm of peak torque and weighs only 150 kilogram, which profits an amazing energy to weight rate and allows the bike to hug 160kmph redline without much attempt.
